Alta Langa DOCG is a Classic Method sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, aged on lees for at least 30 months. An example of Piedmontese excellence with a very long history: it was the first Classic Method wine to be made in Italy, in the mid-19th century.
PRODUCTION AREA
The grapes used in the production of Alta Langa sparkling wine are grown in the hills of the provinces of Asti, Alessandria and Cuneo, situated to the right of the River Tanaro. The vineyards are situated at a minimum altitude of 250 metres above sea level, in moderately fertile marly and calcareous-clay soils, with a preference for fresher soils.
TASTING NOTES
Alta Langa DOCG has a beautiful straw yellow colour and a very fine perlage. The bouquet features intense secondary aromas such as yeast and crusty bread, which develop during the prise di mousse. The palate is savoury, full and balanced, with a nicely persistent finish.
