Clavesana - Cantina Clavesana

Clavesana

We have been winegrowers and producers in Langa for generations.

"Cantina Clavesana is a cooperative which was established on the 27th of April 1959 (2019 was its sixtieth anniversary), following the decision of a brave group of winegrowers to join forces and give these hills a future, tackling the problems together and finding new market opportunities for Dolcetto grapes and wine."

Present and past

An example of rare harmony between landscape, man and history.

Cantina Clavesana represents a journey of evolution and constant growth, from 1959 to the present day. Established initially as a cooperative winery (with a philosophy to which it has remained faithful), Clavesana is now the leading producer of Dolcetto and Dogliani DOCG in the Langhe. It has diversified the rest of its production with red wines like Barolo, Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir, also producing Alta Langa classic method sparkling wine. The acknowledgements and awards for quality assigned to these wines grow in number every year

Having set out with 32 founding members, we have grown to about 200 over the years and we cultivate 320 hectares of vineyards on the hills at altitudes between 280 and 600 metres above sea level. Our work is our passion: viscerally linked to Dolcetto, we have succeeded in enriching the biodiversity of our hills and making productive diversification our strength.

Our Values

The story of the Clavesana cooperative is a story made up of men and women who have worked hard for themselves but also for others, with honesty and reliability, overcoming numerous difficulties and setting aside individual interests to prioritise exchange and collective growth
