Piemonte DOC Barbera

Piemonte Barbera is excellent with all courses of a meal and is very popular in Piedmont. 

PRODUCTION AREA
Piemonte DOC Barbera originates in vineyards situated 250-600 metres above sea level, in clayey soils with some sand.  

TASTING NOTES
Piemonte DOC Barbera has a beautiful, deep ruby red colour. The vinous bouquet is characterised by scents of forest fruits, such as wild blueberries and blackberries. The main sensation on the palate is the acidity that is typical of this grape, with a savoury aftertaste. It is smooth, dry wine.

BEST FOOD PAIRINGS
Like many other Piedmontese wines, Piemonte DOC Barbera pairs well with traditional dishes from its territory of origin. In general, it is best with dishes that are not too elaborate but have a strong flavour, like giardiniera (a typical Piedmontese antipasto) or agnolotti, but also a good pasta with meat sauce. It is excellent for a casual dinner, with pizza or piadina.
